About Chris

Family

My name is Chris Kratoska and I'm running for Minnetonka School Board. I live in Chanhassen with my son (entering kindergarten), daughter (in preschool), and wife (lovely and supportive). My kids are everything to me, and I want them to have the best experience and most thorough education possible.

Work

I have spent my whole life working with children. Currently, I'm the Director of Sales at the world's largest children's coding education company, Code Ninjas. Prior to that, I spent five years building the local Code Ninjas franchise in Chanhassen, teaching many of Minnetonka's brightest students. In my early years, I coached snowboarding, fencing and little league. I've taught swimming, math, and chess. I know what works (and what doesn't) when it comes to education.

Volunteering

For more than three years, I've been a volunteer at the Minnetonka chapter of Treehouse. We provide meals, play games, and conduct support groups to help local middle and high schoolers deal with the difficult situations in their lives. At the end of every weekly session, we all repeat the following:

"I am lovable, capable, and worthwhile. I am loved without strings and never alone. I have a future."

This message is crucial for our teenagers to hear and I'm proud to be a part of this amazing organization. I hope to carry this message forward to all students in our district.

  • My chocolate pecan pie has won two bake-offs.
  • In my early twenties, I released a rap album.
  • I got 3rd place on a reality show held at the Minnesota State Fair.
